Hugh and I only met Andy a handful of times as we are old friends of Hilary but left Kenilworth many years ago. We just wanted to say that Andy transformed Hilary's life and they were so happy together. She absolutely blossomed and they really seemed to be soul-mates. I can't believe we only saw him 3 days before his death to discuss where we should stay for the wedding in November. They proudly showed us the trees they had planted in the garden and we chatted about where they might go on honeymoon - Andy even said he always fancied going to Japan. How can life be so cruel to such kind, thoughtful and caring people? His attributes came across so clearly in his lovely funeral service and I so wish I had known him better.

Only met Andy for a few hours but left with an impression of a man keen to help others. Our thoughts are with Andy and everyone that knew him much better than ourselves. Devastated that new beginnings should end so suddenly.

Andrew/Andy - I knew him as both - was a great colleague at United Utilities. It was also wonderful to get to know him after his retirement when he lived in Leyland - playing the odd 9 holes of golf and in the worshipping community at St John’s, where he was instrumental in setting up the ‘shed men’.
